after spending a lot of time trying different things, I have found a product that seems to be removing the green. instead of showing coins I have done I'm starting a fresh batch to show before and after scans. if this works as good with these coins I will share the $4 for 400grams product with you all, after reading all bribes

i should say the top 2 half pennies have already had 1, 2 day treatment as well as the silver, the florin was over 50% covered. the 2 halfs could already be posted here somewhere in original condition.

awoke this morning to a loud crashing noise, checked the loungeroom and it seems the cats knocked the tin lid to the ground spilling coins and cleaner everywhere. fortunately I decided to do some extras in the plastic container, both where put in shortly after I posted this last night.
the tin lid was refilled this morning about 6am, in the pics you can see it has started to turn light green already, the liquid is normally a yellow colour.
the plastic container is much darker but then it lasted all night, you can see how dark green the liquid is in this one.
both containers.

basically all I'm trying to do is dissolve the green cancer, not clean or anything fancy, just get them back as close to original as I can without damage.

Hush...not a word to Badthad https://goccf.com/t/62434&SearchTerms=verdi

Seriously, does the label give any active ingredients so we can narrow it down to a particular chemical or formula. Also, check other brands of similar product.

My belief is that anything that is effective at removing verdigris also manages to damage the coin by removing toning, etching surface etc. For example, vinegar, coca cola, lemon juice (and any other acid), caustic soda and just about anything anyone has ever tried.

Probably quickest way to remove green is with an angle grinder!

I await further results with (sceptical) interest.

ok taken the coins out and rinsed and dried. gave some a hard polish as they come out and pretty much destroyed, especially the tone of the newer pennies, though glancing at them now the colour may not be that bad. the older ones held the tone and I'm sure I seen improvement to some point, but with some change in tone or colour. the florin is improved and I havnt looked much further or taken pics tonight, I started feeling a bit crook so just posting to say that, and scans and pics will follow tomorrow unedited.

the 52 bottom and 63 where given a harsh rub with a glass polishing cloth and it removed all tone and greening though it was only light on those. the 52 on the right was only lightly and briefly rubbed. the 52 in the middle was dipped in water and given a firm rub. 52 shilling did seem to be covered in liquid nails or similar and it is about 30% better.
the half shillings where rubbed firmly and seem to have lost little toning, I'm guessing thats because of the extra years of build up? judge for yourself any difference in the half pennies. I will add a few more pics when I sort them.
