Interesting coin. It does look like you have the "incuse" variety. I was surprised to find that Google knew what it was. xD

im sure the seller will kick himself when I tell him what it is, when I leave feedback. I sent a message already telling him how happy I was to win the auction of the used 50c in the pic. to think, when I first found it, I made a buy it now offer of $5, but then didnt know that if I made a bid for it the offer was cancelled. sometimes I like forgetting what I'm doing every 5 minutes

One of the images is stolen. http://www.australian-threepence.co...ium-50c.htmlYou can't be receiving that coin. Note the copyright watermark. I hope the other is an incuse and you receive that coin, serves him right for stealing. Note he says "Please refer to pic's for your own grading."

yep, knew it was one of your pics, I will be returning it and lodging a complaint if it is not the coin in the pic above. he had your pic then the pic above, in the add he said, "A nice specimen, taken from general circulation, and getting harder to find in good condition as time goes by."

Hi erkle, I am not the person selling this coin and I don't want to appear negative, but to be honest, I think you may have been had, even if was for only 99 cents. Yeah, I know I'm a cynical old bugger. This coin and the sellers info. has my "BS" meter going nuts. As identified by others he has stolen another members pic and posted it as an indication of the condition of the coin he's selling only. I note that at no time does he say that the photo is of the coin you will receive. His excuse will be that he has posted the wrong description, see his other coin for his "1994 year of the family" and you will see what I mean. His return policy of "IF FOR ANY REASON YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH YOUR ORDER RETURN IT WITHIN 7 DAYS AS IT WAS SENT AND WE WILL REFUND YOUR MONEY NO QUESTIONS ASKED..." also has me thinking that it will take snail mail that long to get to you and it will cost you more than the 99 cents postage to get back to him. Gees, I hope I'm wrong but I have doubts about it being Incused, he knows what he's doing as he has included the CV of other coins he is selling. "Caveat emptor".

That picture you posted is not an incuse trout. Looks pretty dodgy to me.

fingers crossed its what I paid for, a $ isn't much but they add up. and I did read his add several times before deciding to do it. if its wrong and I lose out its a cheap lesson, and I can make a noise on the site about how dodgy he is, if its genuine then I'm stoked and think the loss against the win could be worth it as a gamble.

If you win its a big win. If its a loss then its a $0.49 loss. I thnk it is a good gamble. You dont have too much to lose.

im hoping that means as it reads, 3 pics, 2 belonged to purple penny, the third shows an incuse 50c. I tend to think I have him on the ropes if its dodgy, but for a dollar I will complain if he has conned me.

I can't wait til I start selling my collection; will just use the threepence site for pictures and info - think how much time I'll save listing! ...
Erkle, I agree, if it were incused it was a good gamble, if not, a cheap lesson learned.
Unfortunately it won't make any difference if you kick up a stink, if the seller only has 4 feedback I don't believe he would care about making a new account again. - and because you get 2 for 1 feedback on Quicksales, it's only 2 sales!
