Nice specimen! I have one of these and really like it. This basically is a silver dollar, in metal content. It was made at the Philadelphia mint on a Peace dollar planchet.

Thanks for the nice comments! All Panama coins are minted in the US on US planchets. I really enjoy using my leftover quarter balboas in the vending machines. All the currency there is US. It is a beautiful country...

Mexico would also write the purity and weight on the older silver coinage. FYI You'll see it next to where they have the word LEY (law).
