Does anyone know anything about these guys? Apparently they were in Vegas and went out of business in the 90's? and minted coins for the private sector.

I am trying to find out if they minted a coin that I have.

Thanks.

I'm not sure if it's the same company you're talking about, but there was a "Continental Coin Co." based in Van Nuys, California, that manufactured and mass-marketed coins, medals and other numismatic objects under several different trading names. Under the name "New Queensland Mint", for example, they made and marketed a large series of "coins" for Hutt River Province.

As I understand it, sometime in the early 1990s, Continental were convicted of mail fraud (selling "legal tender coins" from a country that did not officially exist i.e. Hutt River Province) and went out of business shortly afterwards.

Huge country Hut river Province at least 6000 acres
It was created as a way to sidestep the wheat quota that came in briefly years ago.
It is nothing more than a simple wheat and sheep operation.

Except that they, at least according to their website, went through all the legal steps required to secede from the country and even apparently even received recognition. (Although the Australian government probably didn't realize they were providing official recognition when they did so.)
