Do you guys think the toning is natural? Artificial? Just spent alot of years in an odd place?
I love the toning, just always wondered how if got that way.

Thank you guys very much for your thoughts on grade.

It kind of reminds me of the toning I have on some of the reverse side of my Walking Liberty halves that were stored in an old blue coin folder for many years. The silver on the reverse tarnished (or something) where they contacted the folder and they have dark stripes on them from the glue used in the folder. I also have some Mercury dimes that have that striping on the back and some lettering on the front where some of the print pages of the folder were folded against the obverse of the coin and it left the lettering marked on the coin's surface. Not sure how much that affects the grading (seems to be more of an eye appeal thing to me). It looks like your coin sat on or against something for many years that blocked that "brighter" linear area and let the rest of the obverse tone over the years.
