Just wanted to post this small semis 17MM of Augustus from Philippi in Macedonia.

The coin depicts the bust of the emperor on the obverse with AVC just barely seen, and on the reverse two peasants plowing with oxen. it is RPC #1656.

This same coin was struck by Tiberius, Drusus, and Caligula. The only difference being the obverse legends.

I've always liked the reverse on this coin and some day I will own one. However, I did not realize it was struck by so many. I'll have to keep an eye out for one from each.

I was hoping mine was a Drusus, don't have any of his and it's a bit more rarer than the Augustus.

Was this from an uncleaned lot?

Yes it was. I have found some interesting and scarce coins in uncleaned lots.
