I hope so. I hope they pay for the return shipping too, ill be a little angry if they dont.
I love silvertowne and have gotten almost 50 ounces of silver from them, and I plan on getting more. Just surprised they made a several hundred dollar mistake! But mistakes do happen, I definitely understand.
As long as they fix it I wont have any complaints. I just always worry that something else may go wrong

Im more than sure they will fix the problem and pay for the shipping. They wouldnt be a good company if they made the customer pay for their own mistake.

I hope they step up and pay for return postage. Let us know how it goes. Advertising by word of mouth is the best for us buyers and hopefully they realize that too.

ICSU... if you paid for a 1/4 oz. coin and got a 1/10th oz. coin, this is a substantial error on their part. In your position, I would call them ASAP and find out just what was going on. What does your invoice show?

@Biggfredd
No it didnt, sorry for the long reply. But thought I would update...
I got the correct coin after shipping the wrong one, and its been several weeks and have not reimbursed for the shipping. But I just got a hold of them today, and the lady (very nice btw) told me that someone had forgot to put it in the system. But she fixed it, and everything is good now.
But silvertowne is still a fantastic company! Everyone messes up from time to time, but they made sure everything was fixed and this will not be the last time I buy from them. Just wanted to update in case anyone searching/researching for silvertowne finds this, I dont want anyone to be put off from them!

I had a problem with a SilverTowne order, they promised to reimburse me for the cost of return shipping, and then never did. Must have been that pesky "system" again. I like their products and will probably buy from them occasionally but I am unimpressed (so far) with their ability to do as they say. The lady with whom I worked was also very nice and seemed to be giving me good service but there is definitely a lack of follow-through on their part. Because of this, most of my future business will be with APMEX and Provident.

That is red flags for me, as I can see one rare mistake ONCE IN A BLUE MOON, but two examples of the same CARELESS mistake and only 50% for actually refunding the shipping, that needs to be addressed..... I am curious if the big dawg's who are in charge of this multi million dollar industry as it has become, ever take any HEED in the POWER of sites like this one, where the most ELITE of coin an bullion collectors gather an share info. Another-words, that is not the type of advertising you are looking for, brought on by the cracks in their own system mind you.... MY point, this is a different world then the one I was born into back in 1974. Today, WE all have a voice that carry's way farther then I think any of us ever realize. Often I can do a google searches on similar subjects that I talk about on this forum, and find one of my posts or one from another member here at the top of the list, pretty crazy stuff, lol....

I agree, Hawk. The power of the Internet for enhancing or ruining a business is pretty amazing. One thing about us Internet users is that we are not a bit shy about sharing both our good and not so good experiences. If we got poor service in the old days, a couple of dozen people might hear of it in the course of a few months. These days, millions of people can hear about it in minutes! Yikes! That kind of power had better be respected. If not, then those who do not are likely to end up as Internet Super Highway road-kill.

SilverTowne is generally a good firm to deal with, have bought much silver with them in the past. Even if they mess up a $2.00 order, good customer service generally dictates that they bend over backwards to rectify the situation, because that could be a $2,000.00 customer later. Didn't like hearing that the return shipping was "lost in the system," that us not right if the customer has to keep chasing the firm for restitution. Also the fact that the OP was sent a coin worth $300 less than what he ordered, well, that means not only do we take him at his word, but a "goodwill" loss leader surprise would be included for his trouble. Mistakes do happen, a multi-million dollar operation that can take care of all its customers is worth loyalty to.

"multi-million dollar operation" Here in lies the problem perhaps, compared to the opposite end of the spectrum in myself, in the very limited amounts of silver or other items I put up for sale, at very limited times.... I never take business FOR GRANITE as it means something important to me, BIG TIME. I can't standz corporate turn an burn mentality, now I am speaking from years of restaurant experience, and this correlates with any business. Meaning, LESS QUALITY, cutting corners going cheap to save money, lack of leadership an overall back of the house organization an cleanliness. You see it all the time on shows like Bar takeover or Hells kitchen boy that Chef Ramsey cusses like a sailor an tells them like it is and puts them in their place. I will say the restaurant I currently work for is bar none the best an most first class ran restaurant operation I have ever been a part of. So real lucky to work at two profitable businesses via Lakeside Tavern and Southern bullion.... For example, my girl friend and I ate at this fantastic little authentic German restaurant Lindenhoffs for V day. And they have like 20 tables, as well as this fantastic guy that plays old style live German according music. Apps, soup, salad, entree, and about 20 to 30 minutes in-between so don't come in a hurry. Quality food, some the best German food you will ever encounter, and not that high cost even though I did tip 20 on a 80 dollar ticket, so not bad C note for V day, plus a movie Safe House, and Denzel was beyond fantastic as usual, great movie.... I went up to the according player an told him how much I appreciated the experience of hearing such a unique instrument as I never had before a totally unique experience. He had a heavy German accent, and you can tell guys like that are a dying breed from a time fading away.... Sorry about the rant, but my point places like that you get first class attention an service, just as if you set in front of me when I was bar-tending and not slammed in the weeds, or if you bought something from me on ebay, as I ship real fast an provide much better MISTAKE free orders, packed well an shipped fast. Same reason I will always look the way of the mom an pop shops first, before the big corporate sell outs of the world....
