Hey Online Community!

I recently got this coin celebrating the centennial of our country's founding, but I am finding it very hard to find any information on the coin. Information on where it was minted, what the mintage is, what the coin is made from, ect. Any information you guys can provide on this coin would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Solace-Ian

I don't think that it's a coin per se. I think it's classified as a medal. They were given out as PR I think.

I think it's a modern fantasy piece actually. I've seen a couple pop up described as bronze 20mm etc... but that portrait has the flavour of what is produced by and sold by coincraft.com if you ask me.

Of course I could be way out in left field, but maybe someone who knows more will come along.

It's definitely not a coin. I'm pretty sure they included it in one of the centennial sets they made in 1967.

The back is the same as the medallion that was given out at schools, but they had a crest for the obverse, yours is a bust of I think Victoria [ 1867] Elizabeth [1967].
The school version I think had a silver version.

Yeah but there's some writing or marking under the symbol on the reverse that isn't part of the officially issued ones AFAIK.

The version with the crest had a silver version I have them here somewhere.

Not an RCM issue.
Many hundreds of different medallions were issued to cash in on and celebrate the centennial.
This one is fairly common and often found in dealer junk bins.
Usually sells online for about $3

Hi, I am new to your site but I was going through some things and found a 1906 Canadian 50 cent piece with King Edward the VII. What is it worth and as I am not a collector what would you suggest as a next step? Thanks
