Last night I bought a coin, as you do. And the guy told me he has a some coins that he is about to sell, I was like ok I'm interested in buying some coins, I was shocked when he email me over 3 excel sheets of coins, what do I do, I don't want to scare the guy away or be cheap, because I only like 4 things on his list. I was thinking of referring him to the forum, I am sure some of you guys would be interested in buying his stuff, he has everything and I mean everything there were silver sets and stuff I would not dream of even buying.

be honest, say that its out of your league but you could pass the sale info onto others who could look after him. I think I'm in the same boat, I was offered some coins so I said scan or take pic for me, she said too many to do that so we have arranged to meet up this week. which brings to mind, I am getting some decent coins offered to me etc, but I cannot afford to buy them, who wants to put their hand up to be contacted by me when it happens next time. 1 of the coins was unc 1937 florin. I have tapped a market here that is way beyond my spending abilities. so put your hand up and I will be the go between to start the deals I cant touch

There is nothing wrong with just saying you are after certain coins. I do it all of the time and people don't get offended. If they do it is there problem. It is your money and you can decide to spend it as you wish. I'm sure they will be grateful for any purchases you would like to make! When I decide to sell some coins I often send out a sheet (or 3) with all of the coins I am looking to get rid of. You never know what someone may be after to addition to what they have already asked for. I'm sure there are others who are the same. I would be interested to see what they have for sale if you and the seller are happy to pass on the details

Don't feel bad. When was the last time you walked into Woolworths and bought the whole store? You shouldn't feel any different when someone offers you a huge amount of coins for sale.

You don't have to buy all the coins - it is not expected. State what you are interested in and discuss that. They obviously know a little about coins and collecting them and would not expect otherwise.
btw : My wife has a eight bag limit at the shop (or at least should do)

He did reply, unfortunately stating prices and facts. So I just put it out there what I wanted to pay for the 2 items that ended up being in my price range. Also said other coins sound really nice but they are out of my league. And I could pass your email info to people I know who could be interested in buying, or I can pass their email to you and you can contact them.
