Hello. My name is Steve and I live in Belgium but am actually Canadian. Anyway, I have come into possession of a coin I believe to be an error. It is a 1951 Belgian 100 Franks silver coin, about the size of a silver dollar. It has the profile of four Belgian kings on the obverse and the reverse is set 180 degrees off the obverse. I believe this to be an error. It is in a circulated condition. Can anyone give me an idea of value on this?

to CCF Steve. Can you post a photo or a scan of the coin that would help some. Maybe someone can help you without the photo, I don't know.

to the Community!

I moved your post to the 'World Variety and Error Coins' forum. It should help get the attention of those more knowledgeable on the topic.

I don't know anything about this coin, but other collectors here should be able to help you.

Here is an image of the coin in front of a mirror so both sides can be seen. Note reverse is upside down.

Welcome to CCF Steve!

Here's a snip of a page provided by wade. You can see that some issues of this coin have a "medal alignment", same way up on both sides, and some issues are "coin alignment", that would be like yours.

Hello Steve,
This is no error but the standard allignment. All Belgian coins were struck with coin allignment. If you find a Belgian coin in medal allignment than they command a premium. The coin you got (1951 Flemish) is the easiest of this series and is not much more worth than its silver value.
