Hey guys, Check out these two coins below. The first picture is the front of both, and the second is the back. I was told they could possibly be Moorish Spain, but I'm trying to figure details about them. Any ideas? Edited by Stan 01/25/2012 8:54 pm

That seems to be Indian script, my best guess would be Indian temple tokens. Write it in the search box and you will find lots of pieces that could resemble them.

They don't like look Indian temples. Temples are generally thicker, while the ones I have are incredibly thin. Less than 1mm in thickness.

I'm certainly no expert, I have never heard of seen coins from Moorish Spain so I don't know if you're right. I'm gonna stick with my idea that they could be Indian temple tokens or just basically old Indian coins.

I'm obviously not sure either, but they don't seem to be Indian.
Anyone knowledgeable on stuff like this?

Are these coins yours, or are you trying to make a decision based on these pictures? If these are the seller's pics, I would ask for better photos--it will help ID here.

Yes, I own them both.
I looked through all those threads, but I don't exactly see a concrete reference I can use.

These two coins are silver dirhams, an issue of the Muwahhids of Spain. Sorry I don't know enough to attribute them.

They definitely seem to be coins from the Almohad Caliphate 1121-1269. Can anyone give any more specifics?
