Can you still get them at the Perth Mint, or is that where its sold out? To the bay I go...let the hunt begin.

The coin is a RAM product and they sold out of both the gold and silver versions some time ago, so as mentioned previously ebay or similar would be your best bet of securing a 2010 or 2011 dated coin.

I saw 2 of the silver ones today at a jewellers store for $42 and still in their capsule. Should I be getting both of them?

OK, went back and theyre are 2010 but both of them have a deep scratch in the capsule on the obverse. I would assume this will take a premium off the coins over bullion? They also had a few 2009 discovery series brown snake and brolga coins and a 1993 Kookaburra. All of these were $42 as well. This seems cheap to me but I dont have my maccas on me?

Quote: both of them have a deep scratch in the capsule on the obverse If the scratch is only on the capsule, can it be replaced with one that is not scratched? If it was my call, I'd take my loupe, make sure it's the capsule and not the coin that's scratched, see if the capsule can be replaced, and if it can, hand over my money. I'd also be having a good look at the rest of his coins, and I'd most likely buy at least one of each.

If they are the 1 oz versions, the prices sound quite reasonable. Perhaps as a jeweller, they could be pricing on a combination of their buy price and the spot price for silver, rather than numismatic market value. Might be worthwhile going back for another look

could I ask what the brown snake looked like? and if you would purchase it for me if I send the money? I've hung a few on the fence across the road, maybe its time to have one inside

Capsules can be replaced with 80c airtites but would it take a premium off because it is not the original capsule? I have to see the coin in hand to judge that.

They were selling them at their bullion price. The brown snake is the coloured one from 2009. Same as this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-Discov...t_4230wt_689 The capsule has some friction scratches on it though. They threw out the mint packaging unfortunately. The scratching is definately on the capsule not the coin so I might get them and replace the capsule. I can get you the brown snake if you want erkle. It probably wont be till next week I go back to town. You might want a new capsule for it though?

If you can get an extra one ounce roo at sunset at that price from him, I will gladly reimburse you cost plus markup plus shipping. I have been lusting after one of these since I first saw a picture.
