As soon as I secure a 2006-W and 2006-P rev. pf. ASE I'll be saving up for a 1995-W proof. What I can't decide is whether to go for the PF68 or the PF69; the 68 seems to go for around $300-400 less than the PF69.

Aesthetically, what is normally the difference between a 68 and 69? Is it going to be a very easy to see blemish or does it depend on the coin?

This will of course be my most valuable coin and the key in my ASE collection, but that $300-400 would get me quite a few dates in ASEs.

With so few of these minted and all in the deep cameo appearance it all seems to be in the eye of the beholder. I personally cannot see the difference in a 69 to a 70 coin but I have not held a 68 graded coin for comparison. If your set is all graded 69 go with a 69, if your set is mixed with raw coins get the 68 and if the grading designation of the slab bothers you crack it out and have it in a raw form with your others.

I'd get the 69.
