"This coin is very rare and was uncirculated."
This is hilarious, and really want to use the line in a real price negotiation.
-I could let this go for, say $2,000. -What? It's in VG condition at best, I'll give you $500. -True, but it was uncirculated. $2,000 firm.

HaHa, man that one takes the cake. I had just finished checking the D/FW Craigslist not 30 seconds before seeing that post too. And had been thinking their prices were nuts. I guess when you compare them to that, they are down right "steals"...lets see, there was one fellow with 8 Franklins for the reasonable price of $200, one fellow with 6 bullion coins, 1oz each for the nice price of $55 each, and my favorite..a fellow with 150 common date Morgan and Peace dollars that will only sell them all together but priced at $35ea so $5,250. I had thought right before I came here and clicked on your thread that there is no way I'm ever going to find anything to buy on Craigs List...

Yeah, the Denver craigslist has a ton of horrible prices. There was a guy asking 250 for a 1921 morgan and a 1922 peace. Both of which I would pass up in a silver junk bin.

I offered the guy 10 thousand but he wanted 12 so I passed. He said to call back if I changed my mind! I'm just kidding.

I can only assume he thinks he is selling an 1893 S or located an S for his price comparison. Clearly inexperienced at coin grades and pricing.

I see stuff like this all the time, makes me scratch my head.
Then I deal with people wanting to sell off 'collections' and think they're worth some absurd value. Then when I tell them what I'll pay for their 'collection', they get extremely mad.
