Hey I received a large box of world coins and am having trouble identifying some and determining if any have silver. I've been searching online but am finding a lot of contradicting information so I thought I'd post a couple in this thread every day so as not to overwhelm you.

The Balboa is a 1966

The first one is a 1/4 Balboa, which was minted in copper-nickel in 1966.

I don't think six or even more a day would be overwhelming to this group. So have at it. Do please though show both sides, with as clear photos as possible, and a mm size for each coin would be helpful too.

"getting one of the Krause's catalogs will save you much time"

That might be a bit much if it's just a one-time lot of seemingly common world coins. In lieu of buying a Krause... "Google is your friend". So is an ebay search.

The bottom coin is a UK either 5 new pence or 10 new pence (either would be copper-nickel). Those are the only decimal coins that sport this date, 1968, three years prior to decimalization.

You don't have to buy a Krause. Just take you box of coins to the library; most around here have Krause.
