At least for me it is. I bought from a local dealer, one of those random unsearched foreign lots that sell by the pound. The gentleman said there was no silver in the mix, but this little thing fell out from among the dirty half crowns and the steel Italians. I have no good idea as to where to begin looking for data. I have a feeling it's older than my 1800's Krause. In fact, I'm not even sure which direction is 'up'.
Help, please. . it's a cute l'il thing, not quite round, 18 mm at the widest point.

I got to the bottom of that mixed bag and found two more middle-eastern unknowns. At least these have obvious dates!
This one is copper, I believe; dated 1223; size= 20mm:

This one is silver of low grade, perhaps billon; dated 1187; size= ~24mm:

*finds 3 silver coins in lot*

``no silver my gluteus maximus ...``

Anyway, sorry if it's of no help here, but I think the 2nd one could be Iranian.

I love buying these types of coins on the cheap. I enjoy the challenge. Sometimes, it may take me years to fully I.D. some of the coins I have acquired in this way.

The first one is early Islamic, the 2nd and 3rd are Ottoman.
