Ok, one more annoying question today and then I will stop. lol

I found this lot of coins that have a lot of coins with details but the problem is that many of them have surface problems. A great deal of them have good details but it looks like a lot of them have the patina ripped off the coin. The seller told me the same thing. Is there a way to salvage these type of coins? I would like to know before perhaps purchasing them. This is a photo with a handful of coins.

Here is a photo of the entire pile.

With a lot of soaking you should be able to remove a good portion of the dirt. They aren't high vale coins, but still worth trying to clean.

To tell the truth I dont really see much promise in this lot. In the first photo the coins look like the product of an electrolysis experiment gone wrong, thats what the electric current and salt in the water can make a coin look like. The pile of coins look like they are mostly worn down to almost flat discs and many are damaged. Maybe they are what is left over from the seller already trying to clean them without much luck? To tell the truth I have bought such lots in the past and if you want to have a pile of ancients and they are cheap it might be worth a try I think that you learn more from your own experiences. Maybe there is something there, you cant always tell from a picture.

What the seller told me was that they found the coins over the years metal detecting. If they didn't have a patina, they threw them into a bag. I'm not sure I'm going to purchase them now.
