Does anybody have a subscription for this set from the mint? I subscribed in 2010 when they came out with them and I must say that the silver quarters are simply stunning. Once Dansco comes out with a book for the Silver Quarters only, I am busting the cases and inserting them into the album..... I love completed Albums....

If you store in a "cool, dry place" as suggested on the Certificate of authenticity issued along with the coins, you should have no toning in either the OGP or in the Dansco album. Humidity is the real killer for silver tarnish, warm humidity can yellow white coins starting at the rim, and cold humidity can give silver proofs a grayish bloom. A small package of dessicant in the storage area only cost a few bucks. The silver ATB Quarters are amazing this year in hand. I generally buy these loose in the aftermarket as they are cheaper than the Mint's asking price, and typically sell at or slightly above melt. Have yet to see half or full rolls of the silver proofs, that's my ideal collecting strategy. I'm sure they are out there.

Another agent that can cause rapid toning is outgassing from wood, especially cedar and other aromatic woods like those often used in bedroom and other high end furniture. A coin can tone in a matter of weeks or even days if laid bare on a cedar plank. My main point is that is is also important to consider where the coins are stored, even if they are in OGP or other nearly airtight containers because it does not take much of a gap to let in enough molecules to tone a silver coin in a place where a bare coin tones in just days.

I have the 2012 silver & Clad sets. They are very nicely frosted. I also use a seal a meal machine to pkg my silver and Gold coins and sets, then place them in my safe with a dehumidifier portable unit that I can recharge. I have had coins in there for 5 yrs now opened a set up yesterday to check for an error. they looked like the day I placed them in the bag. I hope this helps. Also I keep my Dansco type set album in there unsealed and that looks great too.

How did you get the silver and clad sets? I thought only the quarters had been released.
