Welcome rudea .My best guess would be that it is a jewelry replica of an old Islamic coin. But I'm not completely sure, we'll need Sap to verify this. Don't be discouraged by my reply, I'm no expert.

I was told that this coin came down to the family from four great grand mothers ago.The last grand mother made it into jewlery and so it was passed down to me. The coin has similarities with some of the north African Marinid dynasty,but as you say we'll need Sap to verify this.Thank you for your input.
