As I've stated before, I know know nothing about coins. I got an email from silvertowne telling me about some deals, so I now ask some of you your opinion. 2011 (S) Silver American Eagle Struck at San Francisco Mint MS69 Early Release (ER) Snowman Label NGC regular price is 54.95 on sale for 42.95 http://www.silvertowne.com/p-18193-...bel-ngc.aspxI dont see the content of silver but I imagine they are .999? Thanks for any responses. I just posted the one coin as you sorta get my point and those are basically the common sales.

Why go for US Mint products when you can get those lovely Canadian coins at lower shipping cost?

Yea the biggest issue with online sites with smaller purchases is the shipping. The largest the order gets (Assuming fixed shipping) the less shipping seems to matter.
I just bought a 2012 P Lunar 1/4 ounce graded coin. They shipping me the wrong coin... so I had to ship it back to them. It only cost me $7.60 to ship it, insure it, and delivery confirmation....
They still havent reimbursed my money lol... But overall a great company, I have gotten several things from them. Their bullion bars always have free shipping though, which makes them a good deal!

SilverTowne does have some very good deals from time to time. Since I am into bullion, that is what I shop for with them. I like their 5-oz bars a lot. They sometimes have them at good prices + free shipping + no extra charge for CC use. Those are the deals that I tend to grab.

Good deals, however, it gets killed on the smaller, less than $200 orders. They usually have in stock less typical inventory than a major PM clearinghouse, quite similar to APMEX wide range of products. Here's the key reason to buy from them for US purchasers: they will take CCs for bullion at the stated price at the time of order, no 3% up charge.

Hmmm....I should have looked into their shipping costs and the fact they don't do an upcharge on CC. I purchased some 1oz and 5oz APMEX bars recently. The shipping was $19.95. I will be checking Silvertown when I'm ready to purchase bars again. Thanks
