The submittal to CAC cost $10 ... so have to wonder why a seller of such a high-price coin did not do this? Perhaps they did ... and the coin was rejected? Getting the verification verified by a fourth party may be a bridge too far. In other words, a lot of people wouldn't submit to CAC on principle. I am not clear as to what value the CAC sticker adds to a coin and I don't understand the perceived added value to the price. I was under the impression a CAC sticker designated a coin that had higher eye appeal / mint luster. Isn't it just another person's opinion that a coin is on the higher end of a grade and is quite nice? One of the top TPGs authenticated this coin and graded it to their standards at the time. I don't think CAC removes the coin from the holder and re-inspects, weighs, and authenticates the coin. For me, the PCGS designation is far more important than a CAC sticker Just my $.02 Report this Post to the Staff
