In 6th grade (11 yrs old) we had the opportunity to get a pen pal in Oz while we studied Australia and New Zealand. My pen pal and I exchanged tha 10/- in 1963 for a silver cert. Then the decimals came along and we traded a FRN for one of the first Australian $1.

I just wanted to share with the group! I was in Australia in 2000 but couldn't find him...Fond memories of childhood.
