Hey Guys!,
New to the forum and I found something today that I dont know what it is. I have a old water cooler glass jug and I've been throwing change I get into it for the past several years. Today, something caught my eye as a different looking penny. I know I've seen wheat pennies before, but this one is different. I searched Google and saw that there is a DDO 1955S penny going around, that is apparently worth a pretty penny (pun not intended). But looking at this coin I see that its not a DDO, but that the coin itself is off center. The upper part that says "In God We Trust" is right along the rim of the coin and is almost cut off. Just wondering if anything is special about this. Just thought it would be cool to know. Thanks.

to CCF. What you have is called a MAD,misaligned die. But some of the lettering has to be missing for it to have a premium.

John1,
Knowing that it won't fetch the DDO premium, just outta curiosity, what do you think that it may be worth? Thanks.

Not much if any premium. Those who collect MAD's want some of the lettering missing off the edge.
