is the only thing to look for on this variety the designers initials. I have seen several posts on this subject coin, but I am not entirely sure what I should be looking for.

Besides the rdv varieties, there is a 1988 doubled ear to look for too.

There are quite a few DDOs to look for ,and a good rpm on the 88D

Just go to coppercoins.com and do a "variety search" on the 1988...check for DDO's,DDR's, and mint mark varietys. It will bring up plenty to look for.
