I am wondering if anyone knows of a place to get the battery pack for my 1994 White's Eagle Spectrum XL.

I have called Kellyco and Whites only to be told the model is discontinued and that they do not carry the rechargeable batteries. White's said they carried the holder but not the batteries themselves.

Is there something special about the batteries themselves or can I use third party within the pack?

Rest in Peace

The important point is voltage. White's used to even carry 47.5v batteries.

Most odd batteries are nothing but regular batteries wired together and wrapped in plastic. Places like Batteries Plus should be able to make what you need.

Yes, there is a Batteries Plus nearby. I will see if I can get the specs on the battery pack
aforementioned and see what they may be able to do to help.

Interestingly enough, Whites said they still carried the containers the batteries fit into but not the batteries. Maybe they are expecting people to go third party.

I'm not familiar with the Spectrum, but as I mentioned only voltage matters. By having the holders, but not the battery, here's an example:

White's had a model that takes 8AA*1.5V=12V and 6AA*1.5V=9V in holders. Optional nicad batteries were actually 10AA*1.2V=12V and 8AA*1.2V=9.6V, sealed in plastic.

You could use a 12V car battery and a 9V lantern battery. It would slow down your swing a little, but you'd prolly never need a recharge.

White's used to require mono headphones, which were fairly pricey. We'd buy stereo headphones for $2-3 and jump the wires in the jack. A minute of soldering and instant mono phones.

Thanks for the reply. I will check on the mono headphone requirement seeing this was bought around 1994.

stereo headphones have a black ring halfway down the jack to separate the signals.
