The toning makes it hard to see how marked up it is in those pictures. There is some wear in the hair, so I wouldn't call it MS. AU58, maybe AU55.

If I'm wrong about the wear, i.e. if it's a weak strike or just the toning pattern, I think MS62 or MS63. Can't tell if it's FB from the pictures, '39-D is the best struck date of the series and will not be given any slack in that area.

The rim nicks are an issue.

Except for the nicks on the rims it's a pretty nice coin. I don't really know what it would grade but I would think at least XF. That's just a guess with only a couple months experience.

A low AU FB after the rim nicks and its difficult to say the strike on the obverse with the blotch toning. It could be a MS coin with bad photo, post new pictures here after you receive it.

A wonderful coin! I am a sucker for various types of toning, but as it has already been stated, it makes it really hard to assess the coin from an image.

Those bands do look like two loaves of bread!

I am concerned about the rim hits at 2100 & 2400 on the obverse and very concerned about the rim hit on the reverse at 2100. The fields look wonderful! Very nice!

Yeah I saw the rim nicks, but it was worth it. Good deal for $6.75 right?

Yeah, I think you got a very nice coin for the price. I would have probably taken a 'shot' at it myself... Personally, I think how the coin makes you feel is more important than price. Some things are worth more than money.

The price is fine. I'd have to see better pictures - it's hard to tell much from a scan like that other than very rough grade; you can't see the luster. If it's AU, it's pretty close to market price. If it's MS and full bands it's a good deal. Also depends on how the toning actually looks. If it's actually attractive in hand, it's a better deal.

Of course what matters is if you like it. If it looks good to you next to your other coins, obviously $6.75 is a good price!

This coin is MS I think, just poor pics. This is often how I turn a profit, by bidding on stuff with poor pics, so good job!
