Looks AU55ish to me due to what seems from the pics to be wear on the high points. Did you just get this?

Nicely toned and well struck. I agree with High AU 55-58

that is one of the nicest 32-D's I have seen posted on here. I agree with a high AU grade just because of the rub thats visible, but if it weren't for that this thing would be probably in the MS-63 area. I am not a modern collector and do not really care about modern designs so my grading may be a little off but I do not see anything that would make this one lower than a AU-55

Oh man. You all are making my day. Believe it or not I found it while roll searching. I thought my judgement was being clouded cause of all my excitement.

I agree... AU58... you found that roll searching? Some kid raided Grampa's album I think. Oops.

Actually, look at the tone and the new rub. I bet that was an MS coin that was recently "reintroduced" into circulation.

Wow, are you serious? Post that bad boy in the quarter roll searching thread. That is an amazing find! Someone is going to be ticked when they find their key date quarter missing.

Yeah I'm going to go back and get some more rolls and see if I can find the 1932 S. Might even grab some dimes and find a 1916 D. Ha ha if only.

Seriously,
I would go right back and get some more rolls at face... you never know. I would imagine that is just one coin among many that were recently placed back into circulation. I would get some penny rolls as well.

that has to be the best roll find I have ever seen. I found one in my Grandfathers collection and it was in nowhere near this condition and he was a collector. I almost guarantee whoever owned this coin wasn't the one that spent it

Yep. Stolen coin spent at face value. The rub marks are probably from this recent circulation since they look so 'white.'
As bad as it sucks that someone most likely had this coin taken, I don't think it could have suffered a better fate than being found so soon by someone who understands its importance.

I bet those rub marks are not much more than 80 years of toning rubbed of a bit. I didn't even think of the stolen coin scenario... I just pictured some dumb kid emptying an album into a coin counter! Either way, this is the result of some kind of nefarious action.
It is nice to see it snatched from circulation to have it preserved. Go get some more Lincoln and Washington rolls...

Rub marks probably resulted from being dumped through a coin counter, those things can really do a number on mint state coins

Went back to the bank and got some pennies and more quarters. I told the teller and now shes going to be on the lookout.
