Sell them to where?

If you have rolls of BU ones, they should go up in price.

Many on this forum are selling scrap copper coins on ebay for fairly nice profits. There are people who want in on the metals moves but don't want to pay for gold or silver and are looking for copper.

With copper at $3.9425 per pound, 1 Wheat cent would be worth approximately $0.0260098 each. A roll of 50 would be worth about $1.30.

With copper at $3.97,a copper cent is worth about 2.6 cents in metal value so 2.6 x 50= $1.30. Keep in mind, that is "metal value". Most dealers will pay 3-4 cents each for wheat pennies so a range of value would be from $1.30-2.00 per roll.

i have a few hundred copper pennies, and a few wheats that I have found or gathered over the past year or two... not ever really considering those an investment or protection...

If copper ever really seriously becomes viable to hoard, we will be in trouble for other things... so as computers, and electronics, and anything that needs wiring

At $4 per pound for copper, that makes British and British Commonwealth pennies worth around 8.3 cents in copper value each.

May be worth searching the dealer's junk bins soon!

A noodling exercise for Australian collectors to build a date set may be on the cards. No need to worry the banks!

Just remember to wear gloves for this exercise, because your hands can get mighty dirty!

ALL years, all British and British Commonwealth countries that used Pounds Shillings and Pence for their coinage.

What we are looking at here bronze are pennies that weigh 9.45 grammes.
By comparison, a bronze pre '82 U.S. cent weighs 3.110 grammes, only 1/3 of the weight of the British ones.
Both have roughly the same composition.
