Great finds for both Jeff and Curley! Well done!

Just goes to show there are still nice coins & notes to be found, whether error or simply desirable ones.

...I also agree

Dabbled in a bit of noodling again, after a busy time at work.
Last night I found a reasonably nice 1997 "Smithy" NFC coin.
It has the "C" mintmark on it.
According to my "McDonald" there were only 102213 struck.

Great finish to a successful week

Nice find Squire

I love it when you find something in circulation that wasn't meant to be there!

You are right "The Unicorn".

When I picked up that coin I looked at the Obverse first.
Nice and shiny 1997. Not easy to find in this condition.
I was expecting to find the regular "Smithy" reverse and was looking forward to comparing this with the other "near uncirculated" Smithy in my collection.

You see, my noodling exercise involves constantly checking for better condition coins to replace the "best representative" in my existing collection...

...imagine my surprise at finding this "other" Smithy. Like a small and very pleasant shock to the system ...

My lighting techniques have not done this oldie any justice, but in the hand it looks like a circa 2004 coin. Into a 2x2 she goes!

They come up from time to time but they're not exactly common in circulation.
On the whole I wouldn't think they're rare what with it being the first year of issue.

Finally I found my first radar banknote and it is a 8 digit Radar

Unfortunately it is not in the best condition though. What sort of price do you think it would have?
