@Silverhawk74: I guess that explains the change in advertising for Southern Bullion here in Alabama. Their old commercials where just the typical "Cash for Gold" ads promising the best prices. Last week I saw a new ad that showed cases full of jewelery.

Good eye JSH. We are still buying gold an silver of course, but we are putting much into new advertisement (radio an commercial adds) trying to push more of the sell jewelry an coin angle now, just a smart evolution for the company IMO....

Here we are, June 1 2012!
Silver starts out lucky to break $28.

I just re-read the whole thread from start to finish, Hawk. It's something of a cautionary tale on more than one level. It's still irritating that the coin store, which showed so much early promise, went down the pipes so quickly.

Doubt it. Perhaps new products are coming out that require lots of silver?

It just so happens I have been researching one ZA scenario, and this is what I know to be true, lol.... "Parasites that turn victims into mindless, zombie-like slaves are fairly common in nature. There's one called toxoplasmosa gondii that seems to devote its entire existence to being terrifying. This bug infects rats, but can only breed inside the intestines of a cat. The parasite knows it needs to get the rat inside the cat (yes, we realize this sounds like the beginning of the most messed-up Dr. Seuss poem ever) so the parasite takes over the rat's brain, and intentionally makes it scurry toward where the cats hang out. The rat is being programmed to get itself eaten, and it doesn't even know. How it can result in zombies: Hey, did we mention that half the human population on Earth is infected with toxoplasmosa, and don't know it? Hey, maybe you're one of them. Flip a coin. Oh, also, they've done studies and shown that the infected see a change in their personality and have a higher chance of going insane. Chances this could cause a zombie apocalypse: Humans and rats aren't all that different; thats why they use them to test our drugs. All it takes is a more evolved version of toxoplasmosa, one that could to do us what it does to the rats. So, imagine if half the world suddenly had no instinct for self-preservation or rational thought. Even less than they do now, we mean. If you're comforting yourself with the thought that it may take forever for such a parasite to evolve, you're forgetting about all the biological weapons programs around the world, intentionally weaponizing such bugs. You've got to wonder if the lab workers don't carry out their work under the unwitting command of the toxoplasmosa gondii already in their brains. If you don't want to sleep at night, that is. You may be protesting that technically these people have never been dead and thus don't fit the dictionary definition of "zombies," but we can assure you that the distinction won't matter a whole lot once these groaning hordes are clawing their way through your windows." Lol, there ya go. One simple viral mutation an half the world is walking dead, rof ....

I'm just worried that if gold and silver drop too much that it'll drive all of the cash-for-gold places out of business...
And if that happens, where am I going to find new counterfeits for my collection? :-)

SilverHawk, A very well written and well researched write up of the dangers of Zombies developing in the not so distant future or Possibly already among us. Thankfully there is a cure already in place if the zombies do attack in your very own neighborhood Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION), but is intended only to be used on...ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc. No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is for use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that's not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean...ZOMBIES! http://www.petethomasoutdoors.com/2...in-case.htmlI wonder given Silver's Antimicrobial properties if they tipped them with Silver if they might be more effective against Zombies
