I think it would be possible to grade these things in the same manner as Australian Florins of the same period.

Only a tiny amount of wear on the high points, therefore EF, maybe even good EF.
Not excited about the toning on this one, it is too uneven for good eye appeal.
It is also toned differently obverse vs. reverse.

Yes to toning is weird.
In hand it looks like there is some sort of gunk/staining on top of the patina.
The patina has gone a pink/purple colour.
This is about the lowest grade of these coins I have

Tht black stuff I think is a very thin patchy layer of silver sulphide / oxide. It can be very difficult to remove. The old adage 'Don't clean coins' would apply well here.
