This is weird.
It's dirt cheap. They look very authentic, but there are several differences between them and the real ones.

The seller says they're trial coins. What exactly does that mean?

Just another deceptive way of phrasing modern replica.

Aren't trial coins the coins nominated to be used as a design and then one is picked for a coin.

There are a few patterns mentioned in the Krause for Armavir but for 5 rubles there's only aluminum one, not copper. I would be very skeptical about any undocumented "trial" or whatever named coins, especially when big money is involved. (And if big money is not involved here it means it's a humbug.)

The coins in the pic differ from the actual coins a bit in some small details. If they're fakes, they're good fakes.
How the heck would he have an "official" trial set for $25?

That doesn't say much. There are plenty of fools out there.
I just want to know what these are. High quality fakes?

He just added to the description that they are MODERN trials, not the original 1918 ones. So pretty much fakes...
