These coins can run quite high, depending on the denomination and condition
The coin I pictured sold for $1200. There are many copies, so it's good to get yours authenticated.

Scanner photos can be quite nice and usually better than a cell phone if you practice a bit. The common Eagle/crab coins are from Akragas in Sicily and rande from tens of thousands $$$ to $10 depending on metal, type and condition. That is why people here tell you that they need photos. I'll also mention that there are fakes of the expensive varieties that you need to be sure you don't have or you will soon find yourself flagged on fake seller's lists and people in the know will avoid your sales like the plague. Rather few walk in coin shop dealers know enough about ancients to make a fair offer but you may have found one that did so we can not really say he was trying to cheat you.

If you really have genuine, high grade, rare coins you would profit from buying a camera or paying someone to shoot them for you. We can not help until we know what you have.

Also, I'm going over to a friend's place later that has long distance calling. If you want, I can call you and I'll try to walk you through it. Is that ok with you since you posted your cell number?

Well, they edited your number off of the board for your protection.

<<<Edited by tights24. We removed your email address as well. Rest assured this is for everyone's security. We don't allow anyone to put their mail here, regardless of the situation. I think the "uploading images" tutorial will be enough for anyone to learn. Thank you for trying to help the OP>>>

Ahh, yes, we do care, hence the rules stating "quality posts". This is not a forum for buying and selling, this is a forum for learning first and foremost. This is also a place for us numismatic minded people to discuss things. If you only wish to sell your coins, this is not the venue for you. While you may have some very nice coins that would benefit our current member base, I can't in good conscience allow this thread to continue as is.

Having said that, softball, if you wish to become a valued member of our forum, you are welcome to it. We will be here and of course we look forward to pictures and your contributions. In the meantime while you work yourself up to the proper amount of quality posts, if you feel the need for unloading your merchandise hastily, the folks here will at least be able to look at the pictures and give you values and help with authentication. At that point you will at least be able to go into a dealer with some knowledge on your side.

Good luck with whatever you choose. Be aware though, you may end up keeping the coins and remaining a member here and "gasp", starting your own collection....
