I have been waiting on a coin for a month, and growing concerned. So I contacted the seller, who had confirmation of delivery--2 weeks ago! I went to the post office, and it turns out they had 3 coins-- none of which were signed off by me! The clerk was embarrassed by the situation, and I just have to vent my relief! All 3 look great too. I'll post pics later. Look at those "delivery" dates 2/3, 2/7, 2/10!

I've had this happen to me more than once and it makes me furious. This is what our tax dollars pay for and it's no wonder they're going broke over at the P.O. And on top of that they want to increase the cost of mailing and an increase in pay. If this were a private concern, I'd have half of those idiots fired and hire people who really want and need a job. Sorry for venting if anyone out there is a current or former postal employee.

I'm glad you got them. I'm still waiting on two, it's been a long time. Looking forward to what's in those packages.

I agree 100%, gone are the days of "Neither rain, snow nor gloom of night. The mail must go through."

If they were a business vendor, they would lose a mountain of accounts overnight. I can only hope there will be no snags with my owl tetradrachm shipment. I was pretty upset until I had those packages in-hand.

I hope that doesn't happen to me.
I've been dealing with my local post office in trying to track down the Roman 40 coin lot I purchased. I called a couple of times, they finally called when I wasn't here. Now, I am trying to get a hold of them again. In that department it seems like they are seriously undermanned.

Wait. Not sure who is at fault. Looks like the coins were mailed from Canada? How is the U.S Postal Service at fault?

The seller could have been selling you a pork pie. (lie)
re: delivery information, to help cover their derriere.
At least you got your stuff in the end.

Easy--they claimed to have attempted delivery on those dates, but they did not leave any notification slips. Then, they never attempted re-delivery--the post office admits as much. The seller's story checks out with the dates on the envelope too. I'm just relieved these weren't returned to the sender.

Fortunately nothing like this or worse has happened to me yet (knock on wood). But a situation has happened to me before in which I ordered a coin, gotten a different coin, sent the coin back, and then been told by the seller that they couldn't find the coin I originally ordered.

Our mailman never delivers packages that need to be signed for. We have watched him pull up to the mailbox and pull away without getting out of vehicle, and found those 'you were not home when we tried to deliver a package' slips that require us to go into town to the PO to sign for the package. We have called the PO as he drives off down the street to complain to no avail. " It's a personnel issue that we cannot discuss with you."
