It seems like buy commissions for silver bullion are steadily rising. Both online and locally, I'm seeing more and more dealers asking between 9% to 12% (or higher) for the most popular bullion coins.

Is this due strictly to current silver demand? Or am I just not working with the right PM dealers?

Lucky you, best price I have found in my area is $42 for an ASE. I can't get anything else here. I do however see the upward trend in "over spot" pricing on some web sites.

why don't you use APMEX and others?

As of local dealers, unfortunately I am "enjoying" way too higher premiums anyone could imagine. In Japan they are ridiculous.

Yeah, that 9% commission is rare and only kicks in for volume purchases. APMEX seems easy to work with and very professional. I'm still educating myself on PM investing, including which dealers are best to work with.

A real fine line finding real nice stuff, and getting it closet to spot as possible....
Rest in Peace

The gubmint charges $2 over spot (6%) and those brokers have to make a profit. I would think 9% is a bargain.

question for those who buy from Provident:
can I order coins making payment online (like wire transfer or credit card)?

Trying to order some coins and get them here in Japan ... going to do whatever I can, but no luck as of yet :(
