Why dont you go with the Buffalo nickel commemorative then?
I think you should go with the 2008 Bald Eagle. Listening to your thoughts on the rest of the coins, it sounds to me like that would work best.

as I said earlier if I hadn't already told myself the cut off date for any coin was going to be the year 2000 the Bald eagle Dollar would already be in my dansco album. I think it is one of the most beautiful designs that has come out of the mint in many many years. If I didn't already have the statue of liberty half in a commem slot I would also consider that one, the half was my grandfathers and even when I switch most of them to classics I believe that one will have to stay because I got it from him. But those commems are beautiful to me as well

I'm sorry, I missed the 2000 cutoff.
Considering some of your past success with the series ( just read the thread, all I can say is wow), it's a shame you couldn't use the reverse of the old mint commemorative.
