And, I know this is debatable, but the 2006 S mint IS considered "by the U.S. Mint" to be the final coin in that series. It's "Return to Monticello". People don't like to include it because now all of the Nickels going forward are with this design, so it's not "different", but nonetheless, it's the "end of the journey" coin. And a "complete" collection would HAVE to include this one, IMO..... Hence it is different for a type set. And I'm curious as to why you bought the 4 coin set. Are you building a type set for them? Report this Post to the Staff

One way to look at it is that the 2006 nickel is like the 2010 cent, being the first year of a new permanent design after a special one (or two) year commemorative design.
