New here. About a month ago I found this SC State Quarter in the vending machine at work.

Can anyone tell me what type of error it is? Is it even worth anything?

Thanks in Advance.

The reverse looks altered. The reverse rim is missing.
Rest in Peace

I would think that is excessive wear. Perhaps the coin was stuck in the machine, or a nickel wore it down.
