I'm planning on buying a set from 1941-1961 that are in a book. I can't remove them easily, but I took pictures anyway through the plastic. As a result, I've noticed that half of the image was usually slightly out of focus. I've provided examples ranging from the worst of the bunch (1954) to typical sampling of the rest of the book. Since I'm trying to establish a fair price, I need some opinions on grades of these examples from the book. Thanks!

Maybe I'm not going about this right. I'm not holding anyone to their grade estimates. The price difference changes significantly from MS 60-63-65-66, and I'm just trying to figure out if the typical ones I've posted here are 63 or not. Are they better, worse? My suspicion is that most of them are MS 63-65, with a few (like the 1954) MS 60-61. I have little experience in grading MS lincolns and want to come up with a reasonable offer. Any help is appreciated.

Added edit: These are not from a dealer, but from a friend who is letting me look at them for a while to figure out a fair price.

They all seem to be in the MS-63 range to me with the exception of the 54 as you pointed out. I would definitely go in pricing them on the conservative side, so I wouldn't go higher than 63 on any of the ones shown.

Thanks KenKat. I believe they look better than the pics show. The biggest thing I have to decide is if they are mostly MS-63 RB or MS-64 red. Tough call.

The 41-S looks like it has scuff marks on it.

What are you using as price guides?

I used numismedia prices (FMV) and gave an offer of MS 63 RB on most of them, with a few exceptions. We agreed, and we are both happy with the deal.

How's the 42-S look? For some reason, that's a bit of a semi-key in the post-1940 set. I had to pony up $12 or so (if I remember correctly) for my example.

KenKat - here are my photos. I'd say 64RD.
