First, I am glad that the 'powers that be' let me stay!
Second, my knowledge of Australian slang has grown exponentially over the last few weeks.
Third, I have yet to read a bad message.

To the staff:
While your "navigation" topics include about 99+ per cent of the answers, I found it a bit difficult at first. If I had a constructive suggestion I would offer it.

An example:
Do I need to reach a certain number of posts in order to run a contest? I have a good idea. I just haven't found the coins that I need. They are "somewhere" in the house.
Also, I need to successfully hook up a scanner to the 'puter.
Patience, Matthew.

My thanks for finding this "FAMILY!"
Now on to 200 posts!

Hi Matthew,

There are buttons above the forum fields/links that says Rules:
http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/rules.asp

And there is one for FAQ too:
http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/faq.asp

Take a look through them. They are very helpful. I hope that helps.

For anything thing that is not explicitly stated, just ask!

You can ask publicly, as you have here, or use the 'Send note to staff" link in the lower right corner of every post.

To answer your question, you can start a contest anytime you want.

Just remember, all other rules apply (for example, do not reference Buy/sell/trade and keep it family friendly).

Thank you, jbuck.
The contest would be: "Identify the coin."
A very well-known coin, in basal state condition.
It is WHERE I found it that is interesting.
The "prize" would be a coin from the country in which I found it.

I do not mind paying my dues. No rush, as I am patient.
I ask to be judged on my writing and my contributions.

I share my posts with my sister, so the "family friendly" rule makes sense.
As I have never sold coins, nor anything else, on the Internet that is also not a problem.
