I picked up 2 boxes of Canadian Nickels today along with 2 boxes of Canadian cents. While doing a quick scan of the plastic clear nickel rolls I noticed a reeded coin. I took it out and the coin in the pic is what I found. I have no idea where it is from. Any help to identify the coin would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has a link for the coin that would also be appreciated. The coin is lighter in color then it appears in the picture. It is not magnetic and kinda sounds like silver but not quite as high of a ring to it.

Here is the coin:

It's a copper-nickel 1 Drachma 1962 from Greece, mintage is 20 million. It's worth no more than a couple of dollars in the condition it's in.

Still, cool find.

Thank you very much for the info. I love finding foreign coins when roll hunting. I keep all the ones I find (Non USA) and set them aside. Starting to get a nice little collection of foreign coins. Any coin that is worth more then the nickel face value it was counted at in the roll is a win for me.

Have a great day.

I live in Sault Ste Marie Ontario. Just across the border from the great state of Michigan. I'm from Mi. originally but married a Canadian lass and now live on her home turf. I have been roll searching Canadian coins for the past few years and having fun doing so. I get quite a few US coins as we area border city. I love to variety search and it keeps me busy.

Thanks again.
