I wanted to list this coin...usually I check the internet google, ebay etc to see what is roughly what is the current price for a coin in this condition.

I could not find anything, so here I am. Is this coin rare?
It is about 25 mm, thin.

I thinks it's a contemporary fake.. The letters looks like it's made by someone who didn't know western writing.. (When I'm back home from work I will try to find some more information.. )

There is a paper tag stating 1815 but the date on the coin is garbled it looks more like 1810, the reverse side has the heart logo quartered with alpha numeric in each quarter which I have seen on United East India Company 1/48 rupee's. Any information provided is helpful. thank you

Yes, the heart logo fits 1815 better, as those were produced during British occupation, 1811 - 1816. I would agree, though with Sander on authenticity. Even though the coins were pretty crude, the words, the letters, and the numbers usually stayed together. Looks like this piece was produced by a person not really familiar with the Latin alphabet and Western Arabic numerals. 8 and 5 in the date are butchered, JAVA is all over the place with J upside down ...
I think the piece was made locally and probably is contemporary.

Definitely fake. I have several authentic Java coins during British occupation, and this one isn't even close to being legit.
