I randomly found this coin when I used a US cent for size comparison in a picture. This is the second found without looking--common, or just good luck?
Update: I've read a few posts on the subject, and they appear to be a genuine variety with some collector interest.
I'm not the best grader of LMCs, but in hand the coin looks AU to me. The weak letters, such as "STATES OF" is probably due to strike--Lincoln's should is on the opposite side.
