The city of Philadelphia hosted a parade to welcome former President Grant back to the US after a two year hiatus abroad. It was expected that Grant may run for a 3rd presidential term in 1880, however the nomination eventually went to Garfield. This token is imaged using axial lighting to show the prooflike surfaces.
