Here is a coin a fellow collector sold me--thanks JW! It's my first for both "captive" coin, and one bearing the Chi-Rho symbol. Great patina and details too--it made a good photograph.

Valens-Ae3

Valens AE3, RIC 16b, struck 364-367 AD at Constantinople/4th. Officina

OBV: DN VALEN-S PF AVG, pearl diademed, draped, cuirassed bust right
REV: GLORIA RO-MANORVM, emperor advancing right, holding labarum and dragging captive behind him. Mintmark: CONSP Delta

Nice coin. The Chi-Rho really stands out.

The patina on this coin is particularly nice. Too bad it doesn't come through on this image though. BTW, I'm glad you like this coin.

JW, you're right--I captured the details but not the patina; it's a nicer green.
I won't re-shoot because cropping to the edge is a real challenge.

Slight double strike on the bust, as always a great picture DVC.
