I have a 1978 Italian 100 Lire coin with the reverse rotated about 30 degrees from the obverse. I know no one can quote a value without inspecting the coin (and if there is interest I will post an image later today or tomorrow), but I am wondering if these types of errors are more common in world coins than in US coins, or should I be excited that I've come across something significant?

Thanks,
- Sam

Hi Sawmill

Im not real familiar with the frequency of die rotation for foreign coins , but it is common on many of the US coins especially the earlier dates,, but it occurs on the more recent as well.

There is a niche market for US major rotations (again I have no experiance with foreign coins) 30 degrees by US standards is low to moderate rotation with the best premiums being seen for rotations greater than 90 degrees .
