This seemed kind of odd to my eye through the stacks of coins.
Just wondering if there is some history this coin, I believe it is a Clad or Layering error but do not know for sure. Here are some pics, please post something if you can help thank you and God Bless. ENJOY!

2000-P South Carolina State Quarter (Frosty with seems to be lines behind the ART.)Off-Center it appears as well?

Looks like really worn dies to me.
Maybe it was soaked in vinegar or an acid, so the clad layering was partially dissolved in that streaky pattern....

Not sure, really.
Rest in Peace

Mis-aligned die. At first I thought the lines might have been planchet striations but the ones on the rev aren't parallel.

I don't believe I have ever seen anything like that so I will be watching this thread to see what the experts say about what is going on with this coin myself. Some type of treatment that was done to the coin may be true since the lines seem to go into the portrait as well but as I said I have never seen anything like this so I have no idea what it could be

Not a quarter guy but I would expect any die polishing (scratches) be on the flat fields and not on the raised devices. Pic 3 clearly shows GW's face scratched. How did they get down in the recessed working die and do that? I guess chemicals could have done it post mint but I find it odd none the less.
