The shipping may be a little bit high (I checked two and they are charging $13-$14). Still something cheaper though.

Do you think the market is dropping? Maybe due to the GFC II? Recently I saw a few items fall into my buy zone. I bought some but have no money buy money.

Apparently silver will continue to rise. Maybe they're doing what I do every 12 months; sell to re-invest. Majority is dated between 2000-2006. A couple good non-silvers for sale are:
The 2001 Centenary of Aust Army which had a $7.85 release which now has a book price of $165...starting $80.31
The 2007 Ashes Victory which had a $19.95 release which now has a book price of $230...starting $117.79
Maybe it was the right investments at the right time, & now it's time to cash in?

Saying "Silver will rise" without an explanation means nothing, why will it continue to rise? I say it will continue to rise long term for these 2 reasons in simple form.

1. Every year the amount of above ground silver is less, from memory it was at 7 billion ounces in 1980, and in 2010 it was expected to be between 500-700 million ounces, silver is used more then gold, most gold goes into the market, silver doesn't. It is expected for silver to be extinct within coming years, hard to believe but apparently true. If it does become extinct will their still be a demand for it? Will that make spot rise?

2. The price ratio from gold to silver is about 50:1, but it only takes 10 ounces of silver to dig one ounce of gold, I say the price should not be 50:1 for this reason.

I hope silver still has a demand and rises IF it does become extinct. This is why I only stack silver.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Aarong. As for point one, do you have data about yearly production of Silver? If it can fill the gap which is used, then the amount of above ground silver will keep the level. As for point two, it's interesting. However, looking the chart of this ratio from last 20 years, the ratio rarely below 50 though it is true the ratio is dropping.

29-Feb-12 1768 35.377 49.98
31-Dec-10 1418.84 30.86 45.98

31-Dec-07 833.3 14.78 56.38
31-Dec-06 636.2 12.87 49.43
31-Dec-05 517.2 8.81 58.71

Every dollar invested in Silver, 7 dollars are invested in gold.

Silver levels:
1950 - 10 billion ounces
1980 - 3.5 billion ounces
2010 - expected to be 500-700 million ounces

Gold levels:
1950 - 1 billion ounces
2010 - estimated to be 7 billion ounces

In 1980 when silver almost hit $50 there was:

Global Population: 2.5 billion
Global GDP: $10 trillion
China: 11th largest economy

In 2010:

Global Population: 7 billion
Global GDP: $60 trillion
China: 2nd largest economy

Since 1980:

Population up 176%

Global GDP up 500%

Above ground gold up 600&

Above ground silver down 91%

Silver spot down 46%

The historic value of silver to gold was 1:15, today it is 1:50

It should be 1:10 at the very least meaning it should be worth no less then $160 per ounce, it is a fact that there is less above ground silver then gold.

Industrial demand for silver was up 18% in 2009, the need for silver is growing, silver is consumed in bandages for wounds, batteries, soldering, catalac converters, phones, computers, satellites, high tech weaponry, lasers, digital technology, clothing, electronic circuit boards, ink, solar cells, water purification, wood treatment, antennas, RFID chips, freeway toll transponders, passports, and many more.

From 1990-2000 nearly 2 billion ounces of above ground silver disspareared, there is alot more I can say but I'm going to stop there.

I am not telling you to buy silver, just listing facts for denny and the others on the forums, so if you buy silver and it drops don't blame me lol :)

Once again this is why I only stack silver, thanks guys.

That seller is also listing >1oz 2003 Volunteer proofs around spot @$37, although the additional delivery fee does take off some of the shine.

As an aside, if I was strictly a bullion investor, now would be the time I'd be cashing up most of my portfolio... buy at the troughs, sell at the peaks.

I buy and sell always, no matter the spot price, unless it flies up $20 in a week I won't buy and wait for it to stead down and then adjust to the price.

Thanks aarong. You opened the door and I will do some research in this way. Of course we are just put the information and ideas we know together, and it's everybody's decision to buy or sell something.

As for the coins listed here, I didn't bid any of them. But if there were something I like, I believe the price is good.

p.s. I didn't realize that in 1980 China was the 11th largest economy. At that time a bike and watch was symbols for wealthy person. :-)

I don't buy a coin just to dump the poor thing if the spot price is good.
I buy because I like the coin and want to keep it
A high spot price is great for collectors because all the hard dates come out of the woodwork and can be picked up fairly cheaply

USD or AUD? I highly doubt silver will go up $11 in 2 days, just my opinion. I have ordered my 2012 cougars so hopefully I get them soon :)
