I know that this is an old Jewish coin from around the its century (I think). Can anyone familiar with these types of coins shed any light?

Thanks.

Looks like a AE prutah of the Roman procurator Porcius Festus during the time of Nero, 59-62 AD.

Thanks Gil-galad. Any idea of what the value of this coin would be? Would this had been minted in Judea?

Probably from the Caesarea mint. As far as a value is concerned, it's best to do a search for the coin on the internet, such as ebay, VCoins and other places. I've seen this coin go for anywhere from $6 - $70 USD. Catalog ID is Hendin 1351, Meshorer TJC 345.

Thanks, Gil=Galad, I'll do the research. By the way, I just found a note that I wrote about this coin, (or maybe another...I can't be sure, all my notes fell to the bottom of the box I had stored them.) On the note there was a description of the coin with a note "Valerius....". Is it possible that this coin could be from that era (whenever that was)?

Cheers.

Valerius isn't a particular emperor. Here is the definition.

Valerius is the nomen of gens Valeria, one of the oldest patrician families of Rome. The name was in use throughout Roman history. In imperial times it was frequently treated as a personal name.

If you mean Valerian I or Valerian II. That would be around 253-260 AD and 253-257 respectively.
