Well, not only do I see RM, but I
think I see an outline of the bust on the obverse. But for this era of Roman coins, yours is a decent example. I am curious as to what price you won it at.
Anyways here's my Valentinian III, in case you haven't seen it yet. The bust is kind of visible, and some of the reverse design is still there, but the mintmark isn't. I think I read somewhere that the flans were usually too small to incorporate the whole design on both sides; that that's the reason why the legends and parts of the designs are gone.
Obv: DN VALENTINIANVS PF AVG
Rev: VICTORIA AVGG, Victory advancing left with head right, trophy over shoulder in right hand, and dragging captive with left, P in left field
RIC 2133 var, Rome, 11 mm
Minted between 430-437 AD

(It's kind of better in hand; I may re-photograph it soon)
